3M™ Sunlight Delivery System
3M Architectural Markets is currently developing the 3M™ Sunlight Delivery System. This system actively tracks, captures and transports the sun's natural, full visible spectrum daylight into the interior spaces of buildings where natural lighting is limited. By harvesting free and abundant light from the sun, the 3M(TM) Sunlight Delivery System provides a sustainable, energy efficient lighting solution that results in reduced energy demand during high cost, on peak hours. The 3M(TM) Sunlight Delivery system is a hybrid lighting solution that incorporates additional artificial lighting and controls allowing for consistent light levels in overcast and night time solutions.

Private Clinic Story
In Switzerland, a three-story clinic with a wellness center in the basement is exposed to plenty of sunlight, but it’s built against the slope of a mountain with the uphill side facing northwest. Though the windows on this side are never directly illuminated by the sun, they offer a beautiful view.
The clinic’s owner wants to build a series of rooms on this side of the building and knows it’s possible thanks to 3M Sunlight Delivery System, which can bring light to even the most unfavorably oriented locations.
Along with providing the beneficial effects of sunlight to her patients, 3M technology also helps her focus on saving energy and reducing electrical costs.
3M Architectural Markets also provides:
3M™ Light Mixing Air Guide, whose light weight and adaptability inspires the lighting designer to create a unique solution in the basement spa center;
a range of surfaces including DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes and Fasara™ Glass Finishes help the designer unite lighting and surfaces into a design vision focused on the well being of patients and visitors alike.
